Sound Effects Soundboard

Game show sound effects at your fingertips: correct answer ding, wrong buzzer, drum roll, rimshot, air horn and more. Tap a pad or use the number keys.

How to use the soundboard

  1. Turn your volume up and make sure the page says “Sound on”.
  2. Tap a pad, or press its key on the number row, at exactly the right moment.
  3. Keep the tab open on a laptop or phone next to you during the game.

Ideas for game night and the classroom

  • Quiz nights: the correct ding and the wrong buzzer make any trivia game feel like TV.
  • Big reveals: a drum roll before announcing a winner, a fanfare after.
  • Bad jokes: that is what the rimshot and the sad trombone are for.
  • Timed rounds: start with the countdown, end with the boxing bell. For longer rounds use the online timer.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the sounds come from?

Every sound is synthesized live in your browser with the Web Audio API. There are no audio files to download, so the board loads instantly and works offline once the page is open.

Is there a keyboard shortcut?

Yes. The number row plays the pads: 1 to 0, then the minus and equals keys. Each pad shows its key in the corner.

Why is there no sound?

Check that the sound toggle on this page says “Sound on”, your device is not muted, and the tab is not muted in your browser. On iPhone, the ring/silent switch can also silence web audio.

Can I use it in a video or stream?

Yes. The sounds are generated by your own browser, so you are free to use them in classrooms, streams, podcasts and videos.
