How to roll dice online

  1. Set how many dice you want and an optional modifier (for example +5 for an attack bonus).
  2. Tap a die — d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 or d100 — to roll it instantly.
  3. For complex rolls, type notation like 2d6+1d4+3 in the custom roll box.

Which die is which?

  • d4: small damage like daggers and magic missile.
  • d6: the classic cube — board games, Yahtzee-style games, and many weapon damage rolls.
  • d8 / d10 / d12: bigger weapons and hit dice for different classes.
  • d20: the heart of D&D and Pathfinder — attacks, saving throws and ability checks.
  • d100 (percentile): random tables, loot and percentage chances.

Frequently asked questions

Is this dice roller fair?

Yes. Every roll uses your browser’s cryptographic random number generator with unbiased sampling, so each face has exactly the same chance — just like a perfectly balanced physical die.

What does 2d6+3 mean?

It is standard tabletop notation: roll two six-sided dice (2d6) and add 3 to the total. The number before “d” is how many dice, the number after is how many sides. You can combine groups, like 1d8+1d6+2, or subtract, like 1d20-1.

How do advantage and disadvantage work?

In Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, advantage means you roll two d20s and keep the higher one; disadvantage means you keep the lower one. The roller shows both dice and fades the one that was dropped. Your modifier is added to the kept die.

How many dice can I roll at once?

Up to 100 dice per roll, with anywhere from 2 to 1,000 sides each.

What do the gold and red d20 results mean?

A natural 20 is highlighted in gold (a critical hit in many games) and a natural 1 in red (a critical fail).
