Ideas for random numbers

  • Raffles and giveaways: number the entries and draw the winners with no repeats.
  • Classrooms: pick a student by their roll number, or make random math practice questions.
  • Games: “guess the number between 1 and 100”, or a random turn order.
  • Lottery-style picks: 6 of 49 or 5 of 69 for fun. Every combination is equally likely, so no pick is “luckier” than another.

Frequently asked questions

Are the numbers truly random?

They come from your browser’s cryptographic random number generator (the Web Crypto API) with unbiased sampling, so every number in your range has exactly the same chance. That is far stronger than the Math.random() most simple generators use.

How do I pick numbers without repeats?

Tick “No repeats”. Each number can then appear only once, like drawing raffle tickets from a hat. You can draw at most as many numbers as there are in your range.

Can I use negative numbers?

Yes. Any whole numbers between −1,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,000 work, for example −50 to 50.

How many numbers can I generate at once?

Up to 1,000 per click. Use the copy button to paste them into a spreadsheet or document.

Can I use this for a giveaway or raffle?

Yes. Number your entries, set the range to match (for example 1 to 250), and generate one number — or several with “No repeats” for multiple winners. For a public draw, share your screen while you click so everyone sees the result.
